Welcome to the Library of Soul's crossing here you will find a few tidbits of informtaion to help you become accustomed to Amtgard. Some of the fiels are old since there is now a new edition to the play rules, which we have here as well, but things will change and some will stay the same. Feel free to look around and tell us what you think.
The first thing you will need to do is have Adobe Acrobat Readerl installed on your computer. You can go here to get it for free. Next you need to look at is the 7.5 rules to get an understanding of the way we play. Next you will need to sign a waiver of liability so thaty you can join us on the field of battle. Those who don't want to fight don't have to sign the waiveer as it is only for those on the battlefield.
As far as classes go, there are four spell using classes, each with their own set of spells. The first class is Bard which is musically oriented. Next is Druid who uses nature to fight his enemies. Next is Healer who is a cleric casting healing spells, blessing items, and other things along those lines. And finally, we have the Wizard who's power grows as he levels in the class starting off with helping others to casting greater magics such as fireball and sphere of annihilation.
These spell lists are up to date and will give you a good idea what each class has to offer as far as magic goes.
Also we have several setting books with alternate classes and monsters to play. The first book is the Celestial Codex which is all about angles, demons and the like. The second book is By Night They Dance which isa about the fey folk and everything under the moon. The third book is The Book of Engoku which is the oriental setting in Amtgard. It includes monsters, places, and classes for the orient. The fourth book is the Dorun Avathar which is a book strictly of monsters that can be played in Amtgard. The fifth book is Nautical Nights which is a book all about the sea and various sea type games, monsters, and quests. The last book is Welcome to the Jungle Which is all about the jungles and the mosters within. These books help with making Amtgard more fun and having more things to do than just the same old thing everytime. Check them out and then check us out and see the fun for yourselves.
